Event DescriptionThe symposium begins with a keynote talk, \'Two decades of river restoration in the Central Valley: from the Bay-Delta Accord to the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan\' by John Cain (American Rivers), a timely review of past experience and ongoing efforts to restore ecosystem functions within the Central Valley. This talk will be followed by presentations of post-doctoral and graduate student research. This year\'s symposium features a new element: A policy forum on \'Managing stormwater in California, our current crisis and a new pathway to sustainability?\' presented by Mitch Avalon (consultant, Contra Costa County Flood Control), with a broad-based, moderated discussion. The symposium is free and open to the public, but you must register online at the URL below if you want a program, coffee and light lunch reserved for you.
