Event Description | The day-long gathering is inspired by the botanist and environmental visionary Diana Beresford-Kroeger. The author of several books on the ecological and spiritual importance of trees and a self-described “renegade scientist,” Beresford-Kroeger melds ethnobotany, spirituality, alternative medicine, and ancient storytelling traditions to show a path toward better stewardship of the natural world.
Talks at the 2015 Paris climate conference emphasized the invaluable role forests play in slowing climate change. And according to Beresford-Kroeger, “Forests hold a green passport into the future to stop climate change.”
Noted authors and climate activists will join Beresford-Kroeger for a series of moderated panel conversations that explore the imperative of reforestation and watershed restoration along with profound personal stories of spiritual interconnections with the natural world. The day includes a special preview screening of a film about Beresford-Kroeger’s work entitled Call of the Forest: The Forgotten Wisdom of Trees, directed by Jeff McKay and co-produced by Edgeland Films and Merit Motion Pictures. |
