Description |
The Water Bond, Proposition 13, substantially increased funding for water resources throughout the State. The 2000 measure passed by CA voters authorized the State of California to sell $1.97 billion in general obligation bonds to support safe drinking, water quality, flood protection and water reliability projects throughout the state. Status of funding in 2015 is limited to none depending on program.
A new water bond was passed in 2014 (prop 1) for 7.45 billion and will be distributed through a competitive grant process overseen by various state agencies, including the Department of Water Resources, the State Water Resources Control Board, and the California Water Commission. |
